How to Play Prism Runner

Prism Runner is a free colour-matching puzzle. Swap two neighbouring gems to line up three or more of the same colour and they pop, gems fall in from above and the cascade keeps going as long as new matches line up. Every board gives you a move budget, so a level is a small planning problem rather than a race: the goal box at the top tells you exactly what this board wants, and the pips show how many swaps you have left.

There are 1,000 hand-tuned boards arranged into 50 worlds of 20, and the boards grow as you go — more colours, wider grids, tighter budgets. Later worlds also change the shape of the board itself: dark wells cannot hold gems and gems cannot fall across them, so you plan matches around the gap. Endless mode drops the budget entirely and asks how long you can keep the board alive, and a daily board gives everyone the same seed for the day.

Controls

Tap a gem and then a neighbour to swap them, or drag one gem onto the next. Arrow keys move the selector and Enter swaps; H shows a hint, P or Escape pauses, and M and N toggle music and sound effects. Everything also works with a mouse, and the whole layout adapts from phones to desktop.

Tips

• Four in a row makes a line gem. It clears a whole row or column when matched. Five makes a rainbow gem that removes every gem of one colour.
• L and T shapes make a wrapped gem that blasts a 3×3 area twice. Build them where the board is crowded.
• Swapping two power gems together is the big play. Two line gems cross-blast, a line plus a wrapped gem clears a thick cross, and rainbow plus rainbow wipes the entire board.
• Goals change per board. Some boards ask for a number of gems, some for one colour, some for a score, some for jelly layers, and some for an order of two colours. Read the goal box before your first swap.
• Locked gems cannot be swapped until a match clears them, so work around the lock instead of through it.
• Leftover moves are not wasted. Clear a board with moves to spare and each one turns into a power gem that detonates in a final rush.

They are the three brakes on an easy board. Jelly sits on cells and peels one layer each time you clear a gem there, locked gems have to be freed by a match before they can move, and uneven boards have dark wells that gems cannot fall through, which splits the cascade into separate streams.
